Lodging

The 4-H camp is set back from the main road.  It is quiet and peaceful, wooded with good bird habitat.  Our site provides security and privacy for attendees. There is a tent camping area near the athletic field that will be the site of most workshops.  There is plenty of space for everyone to camp.  It is a short walk (100 yards) from the tent camp to the main festival site.

The Dining Hall for Friday and Saturday supper and the evening Fire Circle is a 5 minute walk up a hill on a paved concrete road.

Tent Camping
Most people at Whippoorwill will tent camp.  Tent camping is included as part of the festival pass/no additional cost. There is a large athletic field and some wooded and secluded areas nearby where you can pitch your tent.  Not all sites are flat, but there is enough flat space for everyone.  You will not be able to pitch your tent right next to your car.  However, we will provide a wheelbarrow to help you transport your stuff about 100 yards from the drop-off area to your tent site.
A "little red wagon" will be helpful in moving your stuff.

Bathrooms

The Bathhouse is located about 100 yards  from the yurts and tent camping area.  It has flush toilets and showers.  There are also three porta-johns located near the main festival (workshops) area.
There is a large indoor bathroom facility beneath the Dining Hall.

Yurts
There are five yurts, each one has heat and air conditioning and electrical outlets.  Three of them are very newly-constructed.  They are nice inside, but its a kids summer camp, dont expect luxury.  Each yurt sleeps up to 16 - 8 bunk beds with plastic-covered  mattresses like you would expect at a kids summer camp.  You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, you will be glad to have a blanket to lay over top of the plastic mattress.  There are showers and flush toilets located close (20 yards) to the yurts.  There is an additional cost for sleeping in the yurts ($20 per person per night).  You can expect to share your yurt with others unknown to you who may snore or fart in their sleep.  oh well.

Car camping
If you wish, you may sleep in your minivan or small truck in the Overflow Parking area.

The Preferred Parking Pass (Sold out) is a short walk (5 minutes)  from the main festival site, but close to the Dining Hall and Fire Circle.

RV Campsites
There are no RV or trailer sites.   Sorry - No large camping vehicles will be allowed on site.  The 4H camp is just not set up for RVs because its a kids summer camp.

Parking
Parking is limited, please carpool!  There will be a designated Day Parking area at the Pavilion for those who attend Saturday or Sunday only.

Shuttle
To reduce congestion and stress for attendees, we have decided to run a shuttle.  There will be one-two shuttle vehicles running from 4 pm until about 9 pm on Friday from the remote gravel lot to the drop off point main festival site.  Please help reduce your stress and ours by packing lightly with minimal gear.  This is an earth-friendly festival.
