Unfortunately, the Whippoorwill Festival 2020 is Canceled.
Please stay tuned for next year's dates in the summer of 2021!

With info on the COVID19 virus, restrictions, and guidelines changing weekly, it seems that social distancing is the common theme that might best protect folks during this outbreak. With this in mind and a heavy heart, the organizing team has made the tough decision to cancel this year's festival.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to reuniting in the summer of 2021 to learn and play together once again! Our community is resilient, and we look forward to sharing skills and healing each other in the days to come!

The Whippoorwill Festival – Skills for Earth-Friendly Living

The goal of the Whippoorwill Festival is to promote sustainable living in Appalachia by teaching earth-friendly living skills with one another in a joyful, healthy, family-friendly atmosphere.

Big thanks to our local Public Radio station, WEKU.  Recently Whippoorwill Festival planners Melissa Calhoun and Ben Ibershoff had a sit down with WEKU's Samantha Morrell for a chat.  We think they did a great job conveying our essence.
If you're curious what Whippoorwill is all about, this is a great way to find out before you come!

Give a listen to the interview here!

Remembering Carol Judy and her continuing legacy
We need forests we can get lost in; trees that make us gape; streams we can drink from.
Wild places sustain and define us; we, in turn, must protect them.
