We'll also talk about the meanings of "native", "exotic", and "invasive", and explore different perspectives of the pros and cons of "exotic" and "invasive" plants in permaculture design.

Awaken Your Soles with Rachel Kaufmann
Start with the foundation! Your feet are the place where your body meets the ground, and they carry your full weight. To carry the weight healthily and maintain the architecture of our arches, we must have enough tone, or tightness, in our tendons and ligaments, and enough strength in the supporting muscles. Modern footwear, though comfy, often leaves our foot muscles weak from lack of use. We will cover the anatomy of the foot, and engage in guided, foot-focused self-massage, stretches, strengthening exercises, and yoga poses. We will finish by exploring the practice of barefoot walking, and engage in a guided, barefoot walking meditation. Bring a yoga mat or blanket if you have one, and your bunions, plantar fasciitis, and fallen arches!

Anarchy: what does it mean to you? with Zak
Anarchist.... socialist....communist.... Sound like curse words to American ears. Wanting to make the world a better place is what brings us all together to gatherings so as this but there is a lack of discussion on self regulated autonomy, and conversations leaning more towards who to vote for to make free range cell phone chargers and which soft soled shoes will stop climate change. Unfortunately we can all get misguided under the illusion of choice capitalism provides us. Let's get together and discuss what a community based autonomous intentional living environment looks like to us.... And how to make it a reality......

Community or Catastrophe - a discussion with Alice Melendez and Leann Leiter
There is one axis of consideration that is the drop in to political struggle or drop out back-to-the-landers that we inherited from the 60s and since. Nevertheless, plenty of people are figuring out how to do both, and realizing that resilience in the face of the natural and political forces swirling around us will take back-to-the-land good sense set in towns and cities with strong political movements. Whippoorwill Festival, Civitas block organizing, skill sharing, ROAR (Reimagining Our Appalachian Region), Kentucky Herbal Alliance, fights for wilder yards rather than forcible haircuts and leashed dogs, workers coop meetings— these and many more are walking both sides of this line. How does this intersect with fights to protect Kentucky forests, stop a new Cancer Alley from being built on our Ohio River, stop the trip to catastrophic climate change, transform the economy, bring to fruition the never-achieved promise of american democracy? Murray Bookchin - Post-Scarcity Anarchism recommended reading.
