New to the festival this year, we would like to welcome the Play Ashram!!
The Play Ashram temple will be open daily from 6:30am till 10pm (for solitude, contemplation, meditations, prayers, etc) and will also hold Morning Meditation, Yoga Asana Practice, and an Evening Fire Puja as well as pop up offerings throughout the festival. We are fortunate and grateful for this sacred space at the festival, stop by and "Play. Heal. Transform. Repeat"
Early Bird Yoga
Gently warm up your body through a series of movement exercises with breath work to grow deeper and deeper in your flexibility as the class unfolds. Suitable for all ages, levels, and abilities.
Screen Printing
Bring your plain T-Shirt or used thrift store finds to print your very own one of a kind 2019 Whippoorwill Festival T-Shirt! Erica is a master with the screen press machine and will have a booth setup to help you make a memory with some cool unique designs!
Affinity Group Meet and Greets!
Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to meet with other groups with similar interests, skills, or location! Herbalists, Activists, Natural Builders - and more! Feel free to instigate a meet and greet around whatever you feel affinity for - there will be sign up boards to create one!
Campfire Music Jam
Bring your instruments for a late night music jam every evening. Campfire will be in a remote area so the music can play on!
Kids Activities and Co-Parenting
In addition to the scheduled kid-friendly workshops, various activities for kids and parents will be available. There will also be a co-parenting schedule for parents to trade kid-watching shifts.
Stargazing with Roman Stinespring
Learn the ancient skills of measuring time (seasons, weeks, months, general hour) and direction using the moon and stars. This is a beginner course for using celestial references as a guide.
Vedic Fire Ceremony with Sarah Belzile
Learn the ancient skills of measuring time (seasons, weeks, months, general hour) and direction using the moon and stars. The Summer Play Ashram will offer a traditional Vedic fire ceremony every evening at the festival. The ritual lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour and provides an opportunity to offer personal intentions, prayers and healing requests as we chant and offer sacred herbs to the fire.
Wild Seed Blanket Fort & Interpretive Center with Emily Heymeyer
Join Wild Seed in the creation of the 2019 Whippoorwill Interpretive Center and Blanket Fort! Stop by anytime to help construct the Blanket Fort, make forest crafts, or add your treasures to the Interpretive Center. The Interpretive Center will serve as a hub for natural and constructed objects obtained through various modalities of discovery specific to the land at Lago Lindas and Appalachia.
